Not a HIPAA-covered entity
Medical Rides Directory, operated by NEMT Growth Machine, is a directory: we publish provider information and forward the contact requests you choose to send. We are not a healthcare provider, health plan, or healthcare clearinghouse, and we are not a business associate to one. That means we are not a HIPAA-covered entity and are not subject to HIPAA's rules the way a hospital, clinic, or insurer would be. We still take handling your information seriously; the sections below explain how.
Built for private-pay individuals, not covered entities
This site and its forms are designed for people arranging and paying for their own transportation, or a family member's, directly with the provider. It is not built for hospitals, facilities, discharge planners, insurers, case managers, or other covered entities submitting requests on a patient's behalf, and it is not a channel for Medicaid or insurance-covered rides. If that's what you need, contact a provider directly or use your facility's own transportation coordination process instead.
We do not ask for health information
Our forms collect only what's needed to forward your request to a provider: your name, phone, email if you give it, pickup city, the type of transportation you need, and a preferred date. We do not ask for, and do not want, your diagnosis, medical record number, insurance information, or any other health information. Please leave that out of any free-text field; save those details for your call with the provider, who handles them directly.
How we handle what you submit
- Your submission goes to our customer relationship system and to the specific provider you asked us to contact. Nothing more.
- We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not share it with anyone besides the provider you selected.
- We keep what's needed to run the directory and respond to you, nothing beyond that.
